COMPOSITION:

Each ml contains:

Menthol 16 mg

Camphor 33 mg

PROPERTIES:

The liniment acts through its components, as a rubefacient and counter-irritant to the skin, stimulating and increasing the local circulation; and due to the dilatation of the local blood vessels, a sensation of coldness is produced followed by analgesic effect and relief of itching.

INDICATIONS:

Alleviation of swellings and treatment of myositis, bursitis, sprain tendons, tendovaginitis, tendinitis, lameness, bruises, colds and rheumatism. Relief of muscular soreness, aches and stiffness; and arthritic pains due to over-exertion, fatigue, strenuous exercise and competitive activity.

APPLICATION:

Lameness, sprains, swellings etc…: Foment the affected area with hot water, then rub well with the liniment 2-3 times daily. Rheumatism and colds: Foment the affected area (chest, neck, shoulder, back etc…) with hot water, then rub well with the “Spirit lotion” ; then cover, at night, with heavy blanket and protect the animal from drafts. For blistering:

Rub the targeted part with liniment, then cover with gauze saturated with the “Spirit lotion”. Repeat twice daily, if necessary.

Preparation of the spirit lotion:

Mix(60 ml liniment + 60 ml water + 300 ml methylated spirit).

Setting up and leg brace in equines for racing:

Mix liniment, water, vinegar (1:10:4 parts) respectively, then rub the legs thoroughly and bandage untightly.

For cooling body wash in equines:

Mix liniment, water, vinegar (1:6:2 parts) respectively, to be used as a therapeutic body wash when refreshing and coolant is indicated for tired, over-heated horse.

PRECAUTIONS:

Do not apply to irritated or broken skin; so abrasions and wounds should be treated until healing before applying liniment. Avoid contact with eyes.

STORAGE:

Keep in a dry, dark place below 30 ºC.
