COMPOSITION
Dexamethasone (sf. Sodium phosphate) …………………………………………………….… ... 0.05 g
Hydrochlorothiazide ………………………………………………………………………. ……. 5.00 g
Excipient QSP …………………………………………………………………………………… 100ml
PHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES
Dexamethasone (DXM) is an anti-inflammatory drug from the group of glucocorticoids with
powerful anti-inflammatory activity and devoid of mineralocorticoid action.
In terms of anti-inflammatory properties, DXM is about 25 times more potent than cortisol.
DXM is used in the case of allergy and therefore the resulting edema and congestion.
Like other fluorinated corticosteroids, DXM also has an anti-ADH effect, and therefore
diuretic properties.
Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) is a diuretic that acts in the distal convoluted tube by
inhibition of sodium reabsorption, with significant elimination of potassium and
increased reabsorption of Ca +
. The diuretic effect of HCTZ is relatively weak in
comparison with loop diuretics (furosemide), which makes it a substance of choice
when significant diuresis is not sought.
The DXM-HCTZ combination therefore aims to complement the effects of these two substances.

CONTRAINDICATIONS AND INTERACTIONS
The major contraindications for the medicinal product ATLADIUREX are those of corticosteroid therapy, it
These are advanced gestation, infectious processes, kidney or heart conditions and contraindications related to the presence of hydrochlorothiazide such as hypersensitivity to thiazides or
sulfonamides, anuria, or pregnancy (risk of thrombocytopenia in the newborn).
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the specialty.
Do not combine with hepatotoxic or nephrotoxic drugs.
Since corticosteroids may reduce the immune response to vaccination, dexamethasone should not
should not be given at the same time as vaccines.
Concomitant administration of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may increase
the risk of ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract.
Sulfonamides may potentiate the activity of hydrochlorothiazide.
SIDE EFFECTS
Those of steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (immunosuppression, inhibition of cortisol secretion,
hypokalaemia, hypocalcaemia). However, these effects are only seen with treatment of
long term (> one week).
The use of corticosteroids in lactating cattle may cause a temporary decrease in blood
milk production.
Induction of parturition with corticosteroids may be associated with reduced viability of
offspring and an increased incidence of retained placenta.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Observe the aseptic rules required when injecting the product.
Use with caution in case of renal failure, electrolyte or water imbalances,
liver failure, hyperuricemia.
Administration of corticosteroids in late gestation may result in premature parturition or abortion in ruminants.
People with known hypersensitivity to any of the active substances should avoid
any contact with this medication.
Pregnant women should not handle this medicine.
In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice immediately.
