PROPERTIES

• EQUAN-GEL is formed by two active ingredients: ivermectin and praziquantel. The combination of these drugs results in a product that acts against nematodes (roundworms), cestodes (flatworms) and several external parasites (arthropods).

• The action mechanism of ivermectin occurs by means of gamma amine butyric acid (GABA), and that of praziquantel causes the spastic paralysis of the wall of the parasite, thus inhibiting glucose captation.

• This product eliminates eggs, larvae, young states and adult stages of parasites.

• EQUAN-GEL is recommended for the treatment of Gasterophilus infestations, such as cutaneous Onchocerciasis, when the skin is injured due to the migration of the third larval phase of Draschia, Habronema or microfilaria Onchocerca, as well as the treatment of pulmonary infestations due to the fourth larval phase and adult state of Dictyocaulus arnfieldi. Ivermectin acts against: Cyathostomum, Cylococus, Cylocodontophorus, Oxyuris equi, Parascaris equorum, Strongylus edentatus, S. vulgaris, Habronema muscae, Strongyloides equinus, S. westeri and Trichostrogylus; while praziquantel is effective against cestodes (flatworms) that affect equines, such as: Anaplocefala magna, Anaplocefala perfoliata and Paraxoplocephala mamillana; parasites that cause digestive tract disorders, such as colics caused by ileal impactation, cecum perforations and peritonitis

WARNINGS

Do not use this product in equines intended for human consumption. Any remaining syringes must be burned, since ivermectin is harmful to aquatic animals.
