FORMULA
Every 100 ml contains:
Alcamphor...................................................................................10 g
Guaiacol......................................................................................20 g
Eucalyptus...................................................................................15 g
Gomenol........................................................................................5 g
Sulphuric ether........................................................................... 10 g
Iodoform...................................................................................... 2 g
Sesame oil q.s......................................................................... 100 ml
PRESENTATION
50 ml flask
ADMINISTRATION ROUTE
Intramuscular or intratracheal administration (small doses, 2 to 4 ml administered slowly).
INTRATRACHEAL ADMINISTRATION IN HORSES AND BOVINES, AND INTRANASAL ADMINISTRATION IN BOVINES: Apply the hypodermic needle in the spaces between tracheal rings (between the fourth, fifth or sixth) and apply very light pressure on the syringe piston, thus allowing the product to go from the mucus walls to the bronchi. If the animal coughs, it means that the injection is being applied too rapidly. Do it more slowly. The administration of the doses must be done following the instructions. Its application on different animals requires professional assistance. In calves, intranasal application is recommended. The calf should be placed with its head up and 1 ml should be applied in each nostril and, by means of gravity, it should reach the entire bronchial tree.
DOSAGE
Bovines and equines: 10 to 20 ml.
Calves and colts: 5 to 10 ml.
Porcines, ovines and caprines: 3 to 5 ml.
Canines and felines: 0.5 to 1 ml.
SPECIES
Bovines, equines, porcines, caprines, ovines, canines and felines.
PROPERTIES
• It is a combination of volatile oils with antiseptic, antispasmodic, sedative, pulmonary edema reducing and respiratory tract decongesting properties.
• The eucalyptus or cineol has antiseptic and antifermentative properties. Due to the ozone it releases, it is rapidly eliminated through the bronchopulmonary mucus.
• The alcamphor (Laurus camphora essence) is rapidly absorbed. It contributes to respiratory movements and stimulates cardiac contraction. It is a great antispasmodic and sedative agent.
• The sulphuric ether has sedative and antispasmodic properties. It is also a stimulant in cases of syncope, collapse and asystole.
• The iodoform (triiodide methane) is adequate for the treatment of bronchitis. It also has analgesic properties if applied intratracheally, in combination with the components of this formula.
WARNINGS
To avoid inflammation at the intramuscular injection site (“unexpected reaction”), it is advisable to split the dose in different areas.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Keep in a dry and cool place. Do not expose to light. Keep out of the reach of children.
