4 Weird Cats’ Behaviors Have Finally Been Solved!!

Cats have strange habits and behaviors that are difficult for us to understand and explain which may differ from one cat to another, but there are general strange behaviors that they all do

And for different reasons, most of these behaviors are driven from what is called memory of the ancestors .. As they were essential for cats to survive.

Let us take a look at some of these behaviors and identify reasons behind them:

1- Sitting on or inside boxes:

Cats love to sit on or in boxes, no matter where they are. The reason behind this is that when cats are exploring, the only thing they look for is a safe place to hide. Experiencing jumping and sliding inside the box might have an echo of their instincts to find sheltered spaces in the wilderness from which they are able to can see their entire environment without being visible.

So providing boxes and similar objects for your cat to climb and hide is an ideal way to make it feel safe and comfortable. You can also try hiding toys in these places, but always make sure that the environment is safe for your cat and that your cat can easily reach the toys.

2- Sitting on electronic devices:

You may notice your cat's constant insistence on sitting on or near electronic devices, such as computers and televisions, and this is because they are warm and have stimulating images on screens. Of course, cats see these pictures differently, but the movement on the screen raises their curiosity.Noting that there might be another reason, such as your cat’s desire to grab your attention.

3- Running around the house at night:

Since cats are nocturnal creatures, it is normal for them to be most active at night. Because we are often not home during the day, they spend a lot of that time sleeping. So when you are finally home, it’s play time for them.  However, in order to overcome this,  you can provide your cat with attractive toys at day time or set up a routine to play with it before you leave the house and immediately after you return to help it release energy and get more rest at night. A feeding routine that provides cats with more energy during the day instead of at night may also help.

4- Hiding things:

Some cats may hide your belongings in order to get your attention - even if this is passive interest - another possibility is that it is a form of play. If you think this is the case, try providing something else for your cat to do, such as food-related toys or even casual games. Better than this and that is to allocate time in your day to play with it, which limits the cat’s boredom and makes it excited and interested.

The third reason may be that it feels stressed, pressured or suppressed. If you suspect this is the case, try giving it a string of wool to play with to relieve this feeling.
