Reiki for Pets: A Legendary Healing Technique

All living beings are fundamentally made of energy, throughout the ages it has been called by different names such as: aura, chi, life force, and prana.  Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that depends on healing energy.

Is Reiki Safe for animals?

Reiki is safe for animals as it involves transmitting life force energy to the affected area or the animal’s entire body. Reiki Practitioners use hand positions to channel healing energy. It’s not with the intention to heal, but rather to offer energy for the receiver’s body to use as needed. It is gentle, non-invasive, involves no pressure or medication.

Can Reiki cure animals?

Reiki works to reduce and remove blockages within the body’s energy system, thus allowing the body’s natural healing ability to flow. It can take place using a light touch directly on, or above, the body, or it can be done remotely. . Reiki should never be viewed as a cure, but as helping the body’s natural self-healing.

Pets can benefit from Reiki as it can induce deep relaxation and stress reduction, and benefits nervous or stressed animals. It is also often used in end-of-life care; it can ease the dying process for both the pet and the pet owner. It is neither harmful nor painful, thus favored by numerous pet owners.

What do vets think of Rieki?

Of course, most vets are not as enthusiastic about animal Reiki. They believe that it is not a substitute for veterinary medicine. However, most pet owners who turned to Reiki for their animals did so as their last resort. They take their beloved animals to the veterinarian for a checkup and diagnosis. Being diagnosed by a Veterinarian is always the first port of call.
